BLACKCURRANT
Blackcurrant is one of Estonia’s most popular garden berries, which is also considered a local superfood. Blackcurrant contains a lot of vitamin C and antioxidants, helps to strengthen the immune system and improves the body’s resistance to diseases. In addition to strengthening the body, black currants help slow the aging of the body and promote concentration and brain activity. This is due to the high content of antioxidants in the berries.
Although most of the blackcurrant has a high vitamin C content, there are also different A and B vitamins in the berries. They promote the body’s metabolism, are useful for the skin and eyesight. For example, thiamine (B1) is necessary for carbohydrate degradation, riboflavin (B2) is a key element in protein and fat degradation.
Copper, calcium, phosphorus, manganese, magnesium and potassium in black currants also contribute to the metabolism. Faster metabolism, in turn, strengthens the development of the immune and nervous system and cells. This results in better skin and toned muscles.
Blackcurrant contains plenty of plant pigments with flavonoids that have a positive effect on cardiovascular health. Flavonoids improve vascular activity and reduce the risk of small blood clots.
SEABUCKTHORN
Sea buckthorn berries are one of the most complete sources of vitamins. Berries contains vitamin C, vitamins B1, B2, B6, B15, P, K, E and carotinoids.
Sea buckthorn stimulates the immune system and the hormonal system. It is recommended to use it as a general strengthening agent for flu and other colds, after operations and traumas, for asthenic conditions and for intoxications.
Sea buckthorn is also used for rheumatism and gout, vascular calcification and vegetative nervous system disorders, for the relief of climacteric manifestations and disorders.
